New Year 2013 Fewalake Clean-up Initiative

Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) in conjunction with Green Clean Pokhara Movement will be organizing monthly clean-up sessions in the Lakeside area. The more hands the better. On behalf of our team at EWN, I would like to thank 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking for sponsoring today’s clean-up event. Many thanks to the staff of 3 Sisters Adventure Trekking and all others who participated and showed their support. Last but not least, a big thank you to the boat association of Khahare, Lakeside for providing us boats and to our boatmen which made a big difference in our small initiative!

  1. Good that somebody cares about the polution problem around Pewa Lake. The government doesn’t care that much about this problem. Country wide there is so much waste and nearly every person throws away his rubish without thinking about the consequenses. Cleaning up the whole country is a big job but with 29 million people it’s a need before it is too late.
    Count me in next time I am there and let’s start making people aware what they can do with their waste. It’s worth money, so why throw it away!?
